Overview
Holly Parr MSDC is a self-taught botanical artist producing sculptural designs using the historic art of Venetian Glass Flowers (French Beading). This lost art form is considered extinct in the eyes of many. Holly loves to romanticise about the symbolic meanings of the blooms she replicates, the language of flowers resonates strongly within her designs. Embracing the many communications this heritage craft expresses she highlights the language of flowers.
The Venice Glass Week Festival is taking place across the city of Venice and surrounding Island/mainland and this event is organised by Holly Parr. She will be exhibiting her Oak framed triptych made up of 37 spring stems: Bearded Iris, symbolic of hope, wisdom, trust and valour. Camassia, displaying sweetness. Anemones, outpouring love and passion. Tulip, expressing love, beauty and elegance. Miniature alliums, for patience, prosperity and unity.
All patterns and designs were created by Holly, based on historic techniques and study of botanical specimens.
