Material Encounters: Contemporary Textiles in Focus
SDC member Ksenia Semirova will be exhibiting and demonstrating at the textile fair
Overview
Working between Hove and her studio in Pimlico, London, Ksenia Semirova works with Lunéville (tambour) embroidery - a historic French technique widely associated with couture. At Material Encounters, she will present wall-based works that demonstrate how this method can function beyond fashion within contemporary textile art.
On display will be works from her ongoing 'Power of No' series, including two new pieces unveiled at the fair. Visitors will also see selected works from Avian Oasis, alongside embroidered monograms that reference both her artistic practice and her private tuition format.
