Overview

The Society of Women Artists (SWA) will be opening their 163rd annual exhibition with great artworks by contemporary women artists. The SWA is a historic and important society, founded in 1855 by courageous and talented women who were unable to exhibit in the male-dominated culture they were born into. Aran Illingworth is a textile artist specialising in portraiture and depiction of the human figure in textiles.
