Tiffany Scull - Open Studios

Open studio event & demos taking place on Portland Dorset

Event details

Overview

Ceramic artist Tiffany Scull (MSDC) & En caustic wax artist Lyn Kirkland will be opening their studios for demos chats and a beautiful display of work including, prints, art cards, ceramics and paintings. Join them for what will be a fantastic weekend on the 12th and 13th of October. Complementing the Annual Photographic Competition in St George’s Centre, the ladies are offering a rare glimpse into their inspirations and techniques. Whilst their finished artwork is quite different, they share a passion for nature and natural forms. Tiffany’s Sgraffito Ceramics process is very detailed and requires exceptional observational skills to produce her exquisite pieces. Lyn’s Encaustic Wax Paintings are all about fluidity, texture and an eye for colour. What they both share is the excitement and element of surprise! Lyn is never quite sure how the beeswax will react when heated, and similarly Tiffany’s clay slips can vary in colour, dependent upon how they are fired. It’s all in the alchemy.
