New Designers Partner Prize: Outstanding Innovation in Craft & Design

SDC is delighted to welcome new member and award winner Duoduo Lin LSDC

We are delighted to introduce our new member, Duoduo Lin, a recent Silversmithing & Jewellery graduate from Glasgow School of Art. She is the recipient of our partner prize for 'Outstanding Innovation in Craft and Design', part of our New Designers 2025 initiative

The prize, which includes free Licentiate membership of the SDC for two years as well as the opportunity to exhibit alongside SDC members at Oxmarket Gallery in November, was judged by interim chair Nikkan Woodhouse and SDC fellows Kayley Holderness, Dan Maier & Sumi Perera.

Duoduo Lin’s 'Echoed Emotions' collection consists of five groups of work - each rooted in a specific emotion. Working primarily with silver and incorporating varied materials to represent each theme, Lin selects components that reflect specific mental and sensory conditions - reclaimed phone cameras (Tense), incense burners (Expectation), shredded failed paper (Disappointed), organic gourds (Reflective) and finger touch-like acrylics (Touch myself) which is hinting at self inquiry.
