Ben Tcharny is a bespoke furniture maker and joiner, based in South London, UK. Creating and making furniture is a passion that can be judged from both the originality of the design and the quality of the finished article. Using traditional and modern joinery techniques to produce beautifully crafted wooden furniture with a modern twist. Ben’s passion for woodworking was inspired by his time at sea, sailing classic yachts, where he learned joinery and finishing techniques during the upkeep and refurbishment of these beautiful craft.

Subsequently Ben went on to train as a shipwright in traditional boatbuilding techniques at the Lyme Regis Boat Building Academy. A lot of his furniture has influences from traditional boat building techniques such as the process of steam bending wood and hand riveted fastenings.

After training Ben went on to work for Spirit Yachts building their beautiful wooden yachts, here he learnt a lot of modern and traditional joinery techniques which have influenced his future work.

Ben has always had a passion for furniture and joinery which led him to found Ben Tcharny Furniture.
