Côme Roumegoux LSDC
Metal Work
Côme Roumegoux is a contemporary enamel artist based in London. Working primarily with enamel and copper, he combines silkscreen printing, stencilling, hand-sifted layers of colourful vitreous enamel and liquid enamel to build depth, texture and luminosity. Using his own photography, he transforms fleeting moments from hidden parts of transport systems into large-scale copper wall pieces.
Côme’s work is strongly influenced by graffiti, transport infrastructure and the raw atmosphere he experienced within these spaces. His background in graphic design, textiles and surface design, alongside his experience within graffiti culture and painting train networks across London and Europe, continues to shape his approach to composition, colour and mark-making.
Transformation is central to his practice, particularly in the contrast between graffiti and enamelling. His work brings together two very different worlds: graffiti can be perceived as ugly, temporary, disruptive or destructive, while enamel is associated with beauty, craftsmanship, refinement and a sense of preciousness. By translating the raw and spontaneous qualities of graffiti into a highly finished and enduring material, Côme challenges conventional ideas of beauty and value, bringing street culture into conversation with traditional craft.
His recent work also introduces figures, further exploring the relationship between people, the environments they inhabit and the traces they leave behind.
