Joyce Amirahmadi LSDC
Stitched & Constructed Textiles
Joyce is an artist who loves to draw, paint and stitch the world about her. She is inspired by people, urban and rural landscapes; and by the arts and crafts of times gone by. She enjoys the experimentation and the creative adventure that leads to so many different results. Her work is often representational but with abstract nuances. She uses watercolour washes and organza overlays to create atmosphere and has more recently introduced stronger colours and more stitch to create dimension and texture.
Joyce has studied a number of artistic disciplines including interior design, print processes, illustration and textiles. In recent years, she has worked on a number of textile designs mostly producing stitched drawings combined with painting. She is a licentiate member of the Society of Designer Craftsmen (LSDC) and has exhibited her work in a number of venues .
