Overview
Most of the pieces Anita is exhibiting are from an ongoing project called 'Persephone', based on the myth of Persephone, using natural plant dyes and sustainable plant papers. 'Twilight' is from a series of work inspired by the sky at dawn and dusk.
Anita makes contemporary paper artworks, working primarily with paper embellished with embroidery to create imaginary, abstract landscapes, sculptural wall pieces and handmade paper vessels. Using hand-coloured papers and thin thread, dense lines of stitch are overlaid like paint to build up depths of colour.
