The Alan Peters Furniture Award 2024
An annual award celebrating the legacy of the late Alan Peters OBE, one of Britain’s most prominent furniture designer-makers of the late 20th century (who was a Fellow of the Society). It aims to encourage talent in the craft of furniture design and making. Applications are now open and the entry deadline is 31st July 2024.
The award is open to any resident citizen of the British Isles who is over 18 and shows a passion and flair for woodworking and design. The award is organized by Jeremy Broun (FSDC) who exhibited with Alan Peters from the 1970s to the turn of the century, becoming a professional friend.
The first prize is a £1,000 tool voucher from Workshop Heaven, a second prize of £500 tools bundle from Evolution Power Tools and the third prize a £300 judges prize. The judges are Jeremy Broun (organiser), Andrew Lawton (FSDC) and guest judge Fernanda Nunez.
The 2024 award will be similar to the 2021 online award with event ceremony and virtual exhibition.
