Handmade Chelsea Partner Prize: Outstanding Innovation in Craft & Design
SDC is delighted to welcome newest member and award winner Caitlin Murphy MSDC
We are delighted to introduce our newest member, metalworker and jeweller Caitlin Murphy who is the recipient of our Handmade Chelsea partner prize for 'Outstanding Innovation in Craft & Design'. Caitlin, who challenges the boundaries of silversmithing and jewellery, is currently undertaking an Artist in Residency at the Glasgow School of Art.
The prize, which includes a year’s membership to the SDC and the opportunity to exhibit in the Society's 2025 exhibition was judged by SDC Chair Nikkan Woodhouse, and Fellows Dawn Thorne & Joseph Bray.
Caitlin said 'I was absolutely delighted to have been awarded the 'Society of Designer Craftsmen award for Outstanding Innovation' at Handmade Chelsea. I established my business after graduating from Glasgow School of Art in 2022. Since then I have poured all I have into expanding my product collections and network. It has been a huge amount of hard work and determination. Being given this award felt like another milestone in my journey of growing my business and I am so grateful. I'm looking forward to being a part of the Society.'
