Carlyn Lindsay MSDC
Wood Carving & Turning
Carlyn enjoys the whole process of making each piece, it is what being a maker is all about. “Yes, I love the feeling of completion but it’s the journey too”.
Her degree is 3Dimensional Art & Design, wood, metal & plastics.
The coloured veneer lines which run through her work draw the contours of the shapes she turns, but the juxtaposing of the straight lines with the parabolic curves and stretched lines is what gives her work its dynamism.
The importance of the design process is critical because each design has it's own precise configuration of lines which determine the construction of her laminated blocks.
Carlyn designs and executes complimentary pure forms then turns each piece to reveal the embedded design this is how she gives a classic form it's contemporary look.
