Glass Making & Stained Glass

About Sigrun 'Sigi'
Sigi works mainly with glass frit which creates the delicate textures she requires. She combines fusing and sand casting to create her pieces. Inspiration comes from her own experiences and nature, although she enjoys the challenge of working to a brief.

From an early age Sigi was drawn to the creative process; after spending years in the world of international Banking the draw to live out that dream became a reality. She returned to education completing a Foundation Diploma followed by a BA (Hons) in Three Dimensional Design in Glass.

She develops her pieces in response to an initial inspiration and research. Drawing play a big part in the design.

She likes to collaborate with other artists and enjoys working to a brief.

She works from her studio in Hampshire.

2011 Collaborated in the recreation of the Farnham Castle Visitor Centre
2011 Designed and made the trophies for the biennial Waverley Borough Council Building Design Awards

2014-2017 Community Arts Facilitator, Alton College of Higher Education, Hampshire

2017/18 Artist in Residence - Glass, University for the Creative Arts, Farnham

Runs workshops on kiln formed glass and cold working techniques.
