Biography Back to top

Living on the North Yorkshire coast, Liz takes inspiration from her love of nature and the countryside. She makes artwear and accessories that are simple using unusual and striking colour combinations which she finds by close observation of the natural world. Defined by vibrant colour blends using hand dyed wool, silks and hand spun yarns her work is characteristic of artisan felted work.

Having practised and experimented with many feltmaking techniques for over 12 years, in 2017 Liz left her career behind to pursue textiles professionally. Nuno felting being a particular aspect of felt making which she enjoyed and specialised, combining the strength and versatility of felt with the unique qualities of fabric to create a material in different weights and strengths to accommodate different uses.

The unique properties and versatility of wool makes it suitable for a wide range of applications, Liz continually explores ways to create visually appealing pieces whilst taking pleasure from promoting the natural and versatile material of wool.
