Naomi Beevers MSDC

Stitched & Constructed Textiles

About Naomi
Naomi is a textile and mixed media artist looking at the sunny side of life. Her childhood in 1960’s and 70’s Devon and Cornwall has influenced her art and given her an appreciation of vintage domestic items and wildlife. She loves combining kitchenalia with textiles to make quirky, humorous birds, fish and other familiar animals.

Biography Back to top

Naomi's love of humour, social history, textiles and cookery combine in her 3D and wall art pieces. Needle felted and painted fabric combined with hand stitch to form quirky British bird sculptures perched on vintage, largely domestic items, dominate her current work. The birds usually have feet fashioned from old cake forks or sugar tongs which along with their perches give the finished pieces a touch of nostalgia and playfulness.
