About Eileen
Born in Lancashire, Eileen worked in Australia for a while . Came back to U.K., and has lived in Derbyshire since 1974. She and her husband created a fantastic garden which has become the inspiration for much of her design work based on the natural world. She attained a distinction in City and Guilds Part 1 and 2. In 1995 she completed a three year course Designer Craftsmen Diploma at West Nottinghamshire College of Art and Design. Member of Dodeka Designers, www.dodekadesigners.co.uk.

Having exhibited in themed exhibitions, galleries, art festivals and private commissions, Eileen continues to explore all forms of surface decoration, always striving to create fresh new images in traditional and contemporary styles. Ideas and inspiration come from a variety of subjects, in particular colourful landscapes and nature which includes her own country garden. She enjoys painting in watercolours, acrylics, pastels and oils, sometimes combining all of these in one piece of work. Initial ideas are worked up in sketchbooks which become the inspiration for unique pieces. Completed works include paintings, greeting cards, printed, stitched and painted textiles, collage, ceramics and creative embroidery.
