About Elizabeth
Elizabeth is an experienced artist working with a variety of textiles and mixed media. She has exhibited her work within galleries and continues to be influenced by historic and contemporary art within these settings. She finds motivating other people about textiles exciting and rewarding. Her work is inspired by a narrative of her own memories and journeys through life. The expression of imagination, fragility, motivation, experience and determination unfold within her work aiming to make the invisible memories-visible. Reference: Goett, S. Elizabeth has stitched from a very early age, creating costumes for dolls, learning to knit and crochet and create her own garments. Stitch has always been an exciting element in her life.

Following a successful 32 year Nursing career, Elizabeth had to retire early due to ill health. It took several years to gain her strength after which she undertook a Textile Art Degree and MA in Textile Design which has enabled her to have a rich retirement in sharing her skills.

Elizabeth is an experienced artist working with a variety of textiles and mixed media. She has exhibited her work within galleries and continues to be influenced by historic and contemporary art within these settings. She finds motivating other individuals about textiles exciting and rewarding.

Elizabeth uses paint, print and stitch within her work. This may be by hand or machine. Free machine drawing with a needle. She always aims to develop new concepts, experimenting with mixed media in the creation of new textile art.

The Gathering Memories Project has been a very successful Worldwide Project beginning from one of Elizabeth's final degree pieces of work. Elizabeth has been the Chairperson of this project full information can be read at www.gatheringmemoriesuk.wordpress.com

Elizabeth is Co-Founder and Chairperson of the exhibiting textile/mixed media group, Visual Marks.
